Tonight is the series finale of ER.\u00a0 I am looking forward to watching it, but I am dreading it at the same time.\u00a0 I’ve been watching the show, loyally, since it began fifteen (yes, FIFTEEN!) years ago.\u00a0 I’ve obviously missed an episode or two\u00a0(or ten), but I always seemed to\u00a0find my way\u00a0back.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I think I’ve liked other shows more in the past, but I’ve never put this much time into any others.\u00a0 And for obvious reasons.\u00a0 Not many shows have the staying power to last 15 seasons – and still be interesting, anyway.<\/p>\n
I have to admit, I’m a bit of a schmuck when it comes to endings.\u00a0 I always cry.\u00a0 Sometimes sob.\u00a0 (I did the ‘ugly cry’ at the end of Friends).\u00a0 I guess I’m just not that good at change.\u00a0 And this will be a big one for me.<\/p>\n
But all good things must come to an end.\u00a0 And it’s ER’s time to go.\u00a0\u00a0 The Thursday night timeslot will soon be filled and ER will play reruns from now until the end of time – so I can always pop in for a visit when I feel like reminiscing about the good ol’ days when Carter was an intern, Doug Ross and Mark Greene were out on the basketball court talking girl troubles and Benson was being an ass to everyone…<\/p>\n
