{"id":1154,"date":"2008-11-19T20:36:03","date_gmt":"2008-11-20T00:36:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/?p=1154"},"modified":"2008-11-19T20:36:03","modified_gmt":"2008-11-20T00:36:03","slug":"who-would-have-thunk-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/forgetful.ca\/?p=1154","title":{"rendered":"Who would have thunk it?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last night Dan had a work event to attend and so Auntie Lizzie and I were the only\u00a0adults home for the evening.\u00a0 Jaia was up to her usual tricks: lotsa reading and colouring and drawing between pyjama time and bed time.<\/p>\n<p>And then, at about 6:45pm, she comes over to me, grabs my hand and says, &#8220;Mama, come Jaia&#8217;s room&#8221;.\u00a0 &#8220;Nap time&#8221;.\u00a0 Then she turns to Auntie Lizzie and says, &#8220;Night night&#8221; as she heads in the direction of her room.<\/p>\n<p>My jaw hit the floor.\u00a0 My 23-month old daughter asked to go to bed.\u00a0 And she wasn&#8217;t kidding.\u00a0 She climbed right in under her cozy duvet and requested her current favourite bedtime story: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/Freckleface-Strawberry-Julianne-Moore\/dp\/1599901072\">Freckleface Strawberry<\/a>.\u00a0 Since it is currently my own favourite as well (and pretty well the exact story of my non-acceptance of my own freckleface), I gladly obliged.\u00a0 And then, 3 books in, she rolled over and waved me away.\u00a0 I was excused.<\/p>\n<p>Dan thought I was making it up.<\/p>\n<p>But then tonight, a repeat.\u00a0 A new trend or just a phase?\u00a0 Only time will tell.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last night Dan had a work event to attend and so Auntie Lizzie and I were the only\u00a0adults home for the evening.\u00a0 Jaia was up to her usual tricks: lotsa reading and colouring and drawing between pyjama time and bed time.
