After missing an episode or two of a new show, I tend to avoid it because i feel like I’ve already missed too much to be able to get into it properly.\u00a0\u00a0 I never watched an episode of Sex in the City until after\u00a0the season finale aired (and still have only seen a handful), nor did\u00a0I watch the Soprano’s, Six Feet Under or the like.\u00a0 I wanted to, I just never got around to it.<\/p>\n

But then, against my better judgement and after the 100th time that Dan suggested I check out this new show on HBO, I finally caved, even though the first season is almost over.\u00a0\u00a0He had seen a few episodes of True Blood<\/a> and knew it was right up my alley.\u00a0 The premise\u00a0surrounds vampires finally being able to ‘come out of the coffin’ and\u00a0\u00a0live amongst the rest of us (only at night, of course) thanks to the\u00a0creation of a\u00a0synthetic\u00a0blood-drink (Tru Blood) – meaning humans are far more tolerant of the vampires when they aren’t trying to eat us.<\/p>\n

And just to make it that much more fun, the folks at HBO\u00a0came up with a hilarious ad campaign:<\/p>\n

From 10 minutes into the first episode that I watched on Friday night, I was hooked.\u00a0 Three days later and 10 episodes watched – thanks to the magic of On Demand – I am completely addicted.\u00a0 Definitely worth checking out.\u00a0 Unless vampires aren’t your cup of tea, that is.<\/p>\n

A word of warning though – DO NOT watch this show with your parents. Or your kids.\u00a0 Just saying.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
