Jaia experienced her first celebrity sighting last night and in the tiny mountain town we’ve been staying in, no less. The local Pizza hut was advertising a ‘Night with Elmo’. Or at least he was going to be at Pizza hut from 4 to 8 on September 2nd. I was pumped.<\/p>\n
I tried to get Jaia excited about the prospect, but the concept of ‘meeting’ someone doesn’t really register at this age. She probably equates meeting someone with seeing someone and she sees Elmo all the time. She has a couple of Elmo books, a few Elmo stuffed toys and every now and then he shows up on tv singing “la la la la la la la la…”. So when I would ask, “are you excited to go meet Elmo tonight??”, she would nod her head vigorously, and then move on to something else. She wasn’t really excited. Sure, she’d love to see Elmo, but why would that be exciting? Move on.<\/p>\n
We walked in and she saw him right away.<\/p>\n
And then she pointed him out to us.<\/p>\n And then he approached us.<\/p>\n And then he arrived.\u00a0 He was all hers.<\/p>\n And then she showed him her toy.<\/p>\n And then Elmo clapped?\u00a0 Perhaps he was impressed by the toy.<\/p>\n Pure delight.\u00a0 I loved seeing her this happy.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/img_0580sm.jpg\" "\\"img_0580sm\\"")
